Basic Principles of Behavior

Catalog description

This course will provide students with an understanding of the basic principles and procedures of applied behavior analysis. Content can be applied to many different clinical and social populations. Course topics will include, but may not be limited to, respondent conditioning, positive and negative reinforcement, positive and negative punishment, motivating operations, stimulus, and extinction. The course will discuss the principles behind these procedures as well as their ethical applications in applied situations. Students will need to demonstrate mastery of these concepts through different assessments including exams, role plays, papers, projects, and presentations.
