Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the rapidly evolving esports industry. Students will examine the historical and cultural context of esports, explore the business models that underpin the industry, and analyze the various stakeholders involved in its ecosystem. The course will also cover the various esports games and genres, the legal aspects of esports, and the path to professional esports. Using a seminar format, students will participate in discussions, complete individual and group assignments, and prepare presentations.
