Catalog description

This 3-credit management elective course is designed for students who have a business idea or operate their own startup and possess a desire to get to the next level. This course will also prepare students to apply to the Pirates Pitch Startup Competition which offers $16K in seed funding prizes and pro bono legal services. The course can also prepare students to apply to the National Science Foundation I-Corps Northeast Hub Propelus program that awards $1,500 to participating teams working on technology-based business startup models. In this course, students will immerse themselves in the “build-measure-learn” cycle that is the “secret sauce” of successful entrepreneurship. Whether a student plans on launching a venture or desires to drive change within a larger organization, this course provides step-by-step through the creation process.
