Catalog description

This course will examine the way we think about and respond to the evolving roles and responsibilities of museums in an increasingly political and pluralistic society. Through readings, discussions, guest speakers, and case studies, we will explore how cur rent (and future) museum leaders and institutions are facing these issues with strategy, empathy, and holistic intentionality. The course will culminate with the development of a virtual exhibition and related educational programming in which students will individually and collectively research, define, describe, and display a series of responses to critical social issues.
