Common Description: This course is an introduction to statistical thinking and processes, including methods and concepts for discovery and decision-making using data. Topics include descriptive statistics; probability and sampling distributions; statistical inference; correlation and linear regression; analysis of variance, chi-squared, and t-tests; and application of technology for statistical analysis including the interpretation of the relevance of the statistical findings. Students apply methods and processes to applications using data from a broad range of disciplines. COS Expanded Description: This is an introductory course in probability and statistics covering both descriptive and inferential statistics. Statistical software will be used throughout this course. Supplemental learning assistance is available for students to strengthen skills and to reinforce student mastery of concepts. Students enrolled in STAT C1000 may access the supplemental learning assistance by enrolling in MATH 400 , an open entry/ open exit non-credit course. (C-ID: MATH110).
