Catalog description

From digital maps to real-time location tracking, geospatial technologies are essential tools for understanding the world around us. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Global Positioning Systems (GPS), exploring how spatial data is collected, analyzed, and applied in fields such as agriculture, environmental science, urban planning, and business. Students will learn key concepts like coordinate systems, projections, and spatial analysis while gaining hands-on experience with mapping software and location-based data. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with practical skills to interpret and use geospatial technologies to solve real-world problems.
