(Prerequisite: ENLT 140 or equivalent or THTR 110 ) This course surveys important and influential dramatists and works from the end of the twentieth century into the first half of the twenty-first. Some recurring issues that these plays address are reactions to U.S. wars; the emergence of ethnic, racial, sexual, and gender identities; and the U.S. counter-culture and waning of the American Dream.
