(Formerly ENLT 254) This course critically explores the cultural stories we tell about illness, injury, and disability, examining how these narrative models impact the material realities of people’s lives and bodies, and how they both reflect and (re)produce ideological assumptions underlying social institutions and power structures, including those pertaining to gender.
