Catalog description

This course explores art inspired, commissioned and produced by the Society of Jesus, 1540 through 1840, in both the Old and New Worlds and among Asian cultures. Texts by Jerome Nadal, Louis Richeome and Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises will be studied as guides to thought and interpretation. (Students who take ARTH 312 for credit may not take ARTH 296 for credit.)
