Catalog description

Understanding and addressing cultural aspects of health is crucial for Community Health Workers (CHWs) as they work closely with diverse communities. This course provides a broad overview of health beliefs and practices across cultures, and defines what ôbeing healthyö means from a cultural standpoint. Cultural adaptations and competence, effective communication across cultures, cultural considerations, cultural stigma, and cultural adaptations of health interventions are explored. Prerequisites: None.
