Prerequisite: CPR-C Certification, all SUT 1st and 2nd semester courses. Corequisties: SUT 1528 and SUT 1703. This course includes instruction in regional anatomy, pathology, instrumentation, and techniques in surgical specialty areas of thoracic and pulmonary surgery, peripheral vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, trauma surgery, neurosurgery, techniques, and safe patient care in surgical specialty areas. This course requires clinical experience in area hospital surgical suites and related departments, and a comprehensive final examination. Four lecture and twelve clinical hours per week.
