Catalog description
This course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of arc welding fundamentals including: welding safety, MIG welding, blueprint reading, welding symbols, AWS 14.3 welding standard, air carbon arc, reclaim welding and cutting. Training to develop the manual skills necessary to make high quality MIG welds is included with emphasis placed in the areas of various joint configurations, single pass, multiple pass, fillet, and groove welds in flat and horizontal position. ELA Placement: No ELA Requirement Prerequisite: None Semester Hour(s): 2 hour(s) Lecture / Lab Hours: 1 lec, 2 lab/week
