Catalog description

By listening to lectures and reading original works, students will be exposed to and engaged in a broad and intensive study of British literature from the beginning up to the Romantics. Students will analyze and discuss specific themes, styles, narrative structures and world views presented in the different works. Students will be expected to read and analyze secondary sources concerning the works. Furthermore, they will become acquainted with the relationships between the works and the world in which the authors lived. Prerequisite: ENG 101 with a grade of C or higher or its equivalent or consent of instructor.
