Catalog description

Prerequisite: Theory I: Materials of Music (MUSC 5105) or equivalent As a skill-building course in the language of tonal music, this course will cover diatonic harmony and voice leading, elementary counterpoint, and simple forms. Students will develop an understanding through part writing, analysis, composition, and aural skills. This course is a prerequisite for any Advanced Theory course.
