Catalog description

This course will introduce students to consecutive legal, medical, educational, and community interpretation. Students will learn how to comply with the legal equivalence requirements of consecutive interpretation. They will also be introduced to the proper usage of this mode of interpretation at various settings. There will be a focus on memory building skills as well as note-taking techniques. Students will begin to develop their own note-taking system and symbols. Through guided exercises students will continue to build vocabulary and learn how to deal with various factors encountered when using the consecutive mode of interpretation.
