Catalog description

Students will engage in an interdisciplinary survey of the Chicanx heritage with emphasis on the contemporary experience in the United States. Analysis is placed on the development of the field and theories of racialization and intersectionality. The survey will include an examination of the economic, political, social, and intellectual elements of the culture of the Chicanx community, and a study of the changing relationship of the community to the general society of the United States.
