Catalog description
Students will study the development of Mexican and Chicana/o culture in Mexico and the United States Southwest including theory, an analysis of the concept of culture and its application to the Mexican and Chicano community. Cultural expression as well as the socio-cultural realities in the study of people of Mexican origin will be emphasized. Other areas of interest include historical influences on art, language, music, folklore, and lifestyles of Chicanas/os in the United States Southwest.
