Catalog description
This is an interdisciplinary course that covers the interaction between human societies and the environment. Important physical and biological properties necessary for life on Earth will be discussed. Students will be tasked with exploring major issues that are bound to affect the future of humans on our planet, including population growth, resource exploitation, pollution, climate change, and the loss of biodiversity. Lectures will also discuss environmental policies and the prospects for a sustainable future. Field trips may be required.
