Surgical Assisting

Catalog description

This course prepares the student to assist in surgery. Students will learn the parts and function of anesthetic equipment including setup and maintenance. They will also learn to prepare the surgical suite for various surgical procedures and prepare the pa tient as well. Self -preparation, assisting the veterinarian, instrument care, sterilization, and asepsis will be covered. A grade of C or higher is required to pass this course.
