coursework. Achieve the minimum requirement of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Submit all required documents and complete all SJVC and site requirements prior to externship assignment. Students will apply their acquired skills and knowledge in a professional environment under the direct supervision of an extern site supervisor. Maintaining SJVC-expected professionalism, proper policy, and protocol along with upholding state and federal laws at all times is essential. The grade earned in this course is Pass/Fail.
