Jazz Band

Catalog description

This course is for the study, rehearsal, and public performance of music literature within the jazz big band idiom. The group will feature saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and rhythm sections selected through a mandatory audition process. Special emphasis is placed on the development of sight reading, jazz style and phrasing, and improvisation.
