Catalog description
This course covers the appropriate use of a variety of assessment and observation strategies to document young children's development and learning. The use of findings to inform and plan learning environments and experiences are emphasized. Recording strategies, rating systems, portfolios, and multiple assessment tools are discussed, along with respectful strategies for collaboration with diverse families and professionals. This course requires a minimum of 15 hours observing children. (Formerly CD 111)
