Catalog description

Students examine the principles and practices of sustainable rangeland management, focusing on the interaction between vegetation, soil, animals, and climate in rangeland ecosystems. Students will explore key topics including range plant physiology and ecology, rangeland assessment, stocking rate determination, and grazing system design. Emphasis may be placed on the evaluation, monitoring, and management of rangeland resources to support livestock production, wildlife habitat, and ecosystem services. Course Equivalents: AGRI 4383 Prerequisite: PLSC 1307 or BIOL 1411 and Junior standing.
