Students explore the wave theory of light, emphasizing quantitative analysis of interference, diffraction, reflection, transmission, and polarization. The PHYS 4113 laboratory must be taken concurrently. Completion of Calculus III ( MATH 2440 ) is recommended, though it may be taken concurrently. Prerequisite: PHYS 1422 .
