Students survey works of philosophy from the pre-Socratics through the fifteenth century, which may include works attributable to Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, the Hellenistic schools, and works of medieval philosophy through the late scholastic period. Students explore artistic, scientific, ethico-political, and broader cultural ramifications of this historical period.
