Catalog description

Students develop a foundational understanding of key laboratory studies used in evaluating, diagnosing, and monitoring patient conditions. Students examine the role of the medical laboratory in clinical decision-making, emphasizing essential tests, appropriate sample collection methods, transport, use and storage considerations, as well as the interpretation of normal and abnormal findings. Through evidence-based learning, students learn laboratory techniques and safety. Prerequisite: Admission into the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program.
