Catalog description
This course offers an introduction to current scholarship and debates surrounding issues of gender in sport. The purpose of this course is to analyze the complex interactions of gender, race, sexuality, and class within sport. A critical perspective will be used to examine sport as a significant social institution and to explore its relationship to the cultural construction and interpretation of gender. This course is offered in the Fall only. Prerequisite: 45 credit hours.
