Students examine various aspects of environmental history. Topics may include agricultural systems and foodways; the impact of weather and climate on human societies; the relationship between humans and animals; capitalism and the environment; war and the environment; urban space; and/or the emergence of conservationism and environmental movements. The course may be offered from a U.S. or global/comparative perspective.
