Catalog description

Students investigate the theories, meanings, purposes, and practical experiences of the fine arts. Students will (1) analyze the fundamental theories and historical contexts of diverse artistic disciplines; (2) evaluate the social and cultural purposes of artistic expression; (3) demonstrate aesthetic literacy through the critique of various art forms; and (4) engage in practical applications or creative processes to explore the impact of the fine arts. Credit: 3. Course Equivalents: HONR 2375 Prerequisite: Admission to the Honors College.
