Catalog description

Students analyze health problems, policies, and challenges beyond national boundaries that require cooperative actions of global partners and multilateral agencies. Students investigate current and emerging global health priorities, infectious diseases, poverty, political conflicts, manmade and natural disasters, emergencies, health inequities, health system reform, and major global initiatives for disease prevention and health promotion. The course content and assignments provide students with the comprehensive contexts for linking the global developmental issues to social justice. Prerequisite: Admission to the Master of Public Health Program, or permission of instructor.
