Catalog description

Students examine the history of Japanese imperialism and colonialism in Asia from the late nineteenth century until the end of World War II. Topics may include settler colonialism in Korea, Taiwan, and Manchuria, Japan's militarization, fascist ideology, the Pacific Theater of World War II, and war trials. Prerequisite: Graduate standing.
