Catalog description

Students are introduced to the fundamentals of residential architectural design principles and drafting techniques. They will develop a complete set of plans and specifications for a small residence, applying concepts of space planning, building codes, and material selection. Emphasis may be placed on industry-standard drawing conventions, dimensioning, detailing, and presentation techniques using computer-aided design (CAD) tools. Additional focus includes the implementation of sustainability principles and electrical layout design. Credit: 3. Course Equivalents: ITEC 2363, ETCM 2363 Prerequisite: ETDD 1390 or ETDD 1361 or ETCM 1363 or FACS 1360 or FACS 2364.
