Catalog description

Students explore literature written in English across global contexts, examining how historical, cultural, and political forces shape and are reflected in these texts. Students explore interactions between English-language and non-English literary traditions, emphasizing the global circulation of ideas, genres, and narrative forms. Topics vary by semester and may include comparative, transnational, or postcolonial approaches. May be repeated once with the approval of the department chair. Prerequisite: Graduate Standing.
