Catalog description

Students study language in its social and cultural contexts by examining linguistic diversity in relation to societal variables such as region, age, class, ethnicity, and gender. Students also study the variation in an individual speaker's language dependent on changes in setting, goals, and participants. Prerequisite: ENGL 1301 and 1302 .
