Foundations of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics.

Catalog description

Students learn essential concepts and foundational skills in cybersecurity and digital forensics, including risk management, networking, digital forensics methodologies, and ethical frameworks. Through interactive modules and hands-on exercises, students explore tools and topics such as Linux, shell scripting, cybersecurity utilities, and emerging areas like cloud security and AI-driven security. This course is designed as a preparatory bridge for upper-level undergraduates and graduate students from non-computing disciplines, who intend to pursue graduate studies in cybersecurity-related fields. This course may not be counted toward the requirements for a graduate degree in Digital Forensics or Information Assurance and Cybersecurity. Prerequisite: Approval by the instructor or the CS graduate advisor.
