Catalog description

This course is designed to introduce graduate students to the field of counseling, its theoretical and philosophical bases, historical antecedents, eithical issues, professional elements and an overview of current practice environments. Additionally, this course examines the professional codes of ethics and their limitations, the value conflicts in counseling, ethical decision-making models, and the current major ethical issues facing the counseling profession.Variable Credit (1-3). Prerequisite: Acceptance into a counselor education degree program.
