Catalog description

Students exam the principles and theories of distributed systems, which include MapReduce, Raft Algorithm, Remote Procedure Call (RPC), etc. In addition, real distributed systems, such as Google File Systems (GFS) and Distributed Transactions, are discussed as examples of recent distributed systems. The course emphasizes both lectures and programming labs, in order to help students validate their understanding through hands-on exercises. Prerequisite: Graduate Standing.
