Catalog description

Students engage in a 4-week clinical experience under the supervision of oncologists, pulmonologists, nephrologists, gastroenterologists, or other physicians who specialize in solid organ or bone marrow transplant who manage patients with transplants or who need a transplant. The experience may include encounters in the outpatient surgical suite; inpatient admissions to the general medical ward, specialty ward, or ICU; hospital consultations; and outpatient clinic visits. Students obtain comprehensive patient histories, perform physical examinations, and collaborate with supervising physicians to develop differential diagnoses and formulate evidence‑based management plans for transplant patients. Prerequisite: CLIN 7801 .
