Catalog description
This clinical clerkship provides the student with the opportunity to gain experience in General Surgery. Students are assigned to a hospital for their 3rd year core rotations, and this clinical clerkship is accomplished at the assigned facility. The student is expected to learn the diagnosis and treatment of surgical patients, including pre-operative evaluation, intra-operative and post-operative care, post hospital care, interprofessional team care and office care. Credits: 4. Prerequisite: Successful completion of all coursework in years 1 & 2, Passing grade on COMLEX Level 1.
