Catalog description

Students train with physicians who care for patients with emergent medical conditions. The experience includes rotation through an emergency department or urgent care center. Students engage with patients in the collection of data, perform a physical examination, work with their Attending physician(s) to reason through differential diagnoses and generate a plan for management of common, emergent scenarios. Opportunities may include encounters with Emergency Medical Services, patients in the Pediatric Emergency Department, dedicated rotations with emergent toxicologists, or other scenarios. Credit: Variable, maximum 4 hours.
