Catalog description

Students act as an intern on an inpatient neurology service to provide care for hospitalized patients with neurologic disease. The experience may include inpatient admissions and/or consultations and intensive care. Students collect and report a complete patient history and physical exam, order and interpret laboratory data and other studies, clinically reason and develop a differential diagnosis independently, present new and existing patients during hospital rounds to upper level house officers and Attendings, work with a medical team to generate a plan for management of hospitalized patients, work in a medical team environment to perform daily duties, and behave professionally as a part of the medical team. Credit: Variable, 1-4 hours. Prerequisite: CLIN 7801 .
