Catalog description

Students train with pediatric infectious diseases subspecialists who care for children with serious infections. The experience may include outpatient clinic, inpatient admissions, subspecialty consultations, and hospital microbiology/mycology laboratory exposures. Students engage with patients in the collection of data, perform physical examinations, experience the microbiology and mycology laboratories when requested, and work with their attending physician to reason through differential diagnoses and generate plans for management of serious infectious diseases in children. Credit: 1-4 hours.
