Catalog description
Students train with obstetricians and gynecologists who provide medical and surgical care for patients who are pregnant or have gynecologic disorders. Students may rotate with subspecialists in gynecologic oncology, maternal-fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology and fertility, and urogynecologic and reconstructive pelvic surgery. The experience may include outpatient clinic, inpatient admissions, consultations, and outpatient surgical interventions. Students engage with patients in the collection of data, perform physical examinations, attend operative interventions, and work with their attending physician to reason through differential diagnoses and generate plans for management of gynecologic disorders and pregnancy. Credit: 1-4 hours.
