Catalog description
Students train with anesthesiologists who care for patients requiring anesthesia and pain relief. The experience may include an outpatient surgical suite rotation and inpatient admissions and/or consultations. Students engage with patients in the collection of data, to perform a physical examination, to work with their Attending physician to reason through differential diagnoses and generate a plan for management of common anesthesiology scenarios. Advanced anesthesia opportunities may include critical care anesthesiology, pain management, pediatric anesthesiology, obstetric and/or gynecologic anesthesiology, or other scenarios. Credit: 1-4 hours.
