Catalog description

Students examine the principles, purposes, and practices of assessment in mathematics education. Students investigate formative and summative classroom assessments, performance-based tasks, and large-scale standardized testing. Emphasis may be placed on designing and evaluating valid, reliable, and equitable instruments that measure mathematical understanding, as well as interpreting assessment data to inform instructional decisions and mathematics education research.
