Students expand their understanding of organic chemistry by studying the reactions, mechanisms, and syntheses of a broader range of functional groups, with an emphasis on complex transformations and multistep synthesis. Offered Fall, Spring, and Summer II. Prerequisite: A minimum grade of C in CHEM 1411 , CHEM 1412 , CHEM 2323 , and prior credit for or concurrent enrollment in CHEM 2123 .
