Catalog description
This course reviews the historical and philosophical background of the U.S. criminal justice system and its three major components: police, courts and corrections. Units focus on topics such as measuring crime, juvenile justice, and contemporary issues. The course also critically evaluates local, state and federal law enforcement agencies and surveys theories of criminal behavior. Offered fall, spring and summer.
