Catalog description

Sustainable Land Management focuses on the core principles and best practices of resource management in an age of climate change, such as prolonged droughts, inundation, soil degradation, and shifting populations of invasive insects, plants, and other pathogens, as well as dwindling resources in an unstable global economy. Using plants to help buffer communities, address resiliency planning, and add economic value to a site are discussed. Students learn innovative and blended approaches to land and water management using best management practices. Field trips are required for this course. Students are responsible for arranging transportation to field trips.
