Health and Gender Internship

Catalog description

Experiential learning challenges students to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom by performing dedicated work off campus. The goal is to build connections between what students do in their Women’s and Gender Studies courses and the practical and intellectual challenges outside of them. To do so enables students to gain applied experience and skills while connecting in a sustained and meaningful way with the Jesuit mission of Saint Louis University. Course objectives for the Department are: ⦁ To provide a framework for students to develop applied projects consistent with Women’s and Gender Studies concerns, themes, and methods of inquiry as they relate to health and gender. ⦁ To support students in undertaking self-directed and self-organized work. Course objectives for students are: ⦁ To apply Women’s and Gender Studies theories and methods within organizations whose work connects gender and health; and ⦁ To develop research, critical analysis, and writing skills.
