Catalog description
This course introduces students to various historical and contemporary methods used in theological inquiry. (How) can we know God? What sources (including traditions, reason, experience, and scripture) do theologians use, and how do they prioritize or organize each in their inquiry? This course equips students with a foundational skillset for analyzing theological methods and major theological disciplines, understanding diverse traditions, and reflecting on core theological questions. In addition to offering examples of various methods, this course raises foundational questions about the significance of theological method. Offered every other year.
